My hip is really starting to go down hill. Its not so much the every day pain, it’s the not being able to do anything. Going from being very active, to not being able to walk down stairs easily, or, sleep on my right hand side is extremely frustrating.
On a day-to-day basis I’m not actually in a great deal of pain at the moment because I have seriously restricted what I do. I don’t walk or cycle the half a mile journey from the caravan to the sailing club and I don’t go for walks in the evenings, which had become my only source of exercise. But there is only so long I can keep this up for. My parents have also stopped me from driving, they are worried I couldn't perform an emergency stop if required.
Many people have asked me what I have done to my leg when the see the crutches. When I explain I am awaiting a hip replacement everyone is shocked,
"At your age? But your so young!?"
